Apple iPhone 3GS ( i phone ), a type of touch phone or touchscreen smartphone, which is originated and marketed by Apple Incorporation. Apple iPhone 3GS is the Third Generation Phone ( iPhone ), descendant to the iPhone 3G. Apple iPhone 3GS was introduced on 8th June, 2009 at the WWDC in the year of 2009 which took place at the Moscone Center, which is situated in San Francisco.

In Australia & Japan on 26 June, and globally in July to August, in the year of 2009.
Apple I Phone 3GS runs Apple 's iOS operating system. iOS operating system is used on the iPad & iPod touch, controlled generally by a user's fingertips on a multi-touch touchscreen display.

On 7th June, 2010, at the WWDC 2010, the I Phone 4 was announced by Apple incorporation.

Apple iPhone 3GS was prepared available for preorder on 8th June, in the year of 2009, released on 19th June in Canada Area, the US & Seven European countries, available on 26 June in Australia and the UK.

The new features of the Apple iPhone 3G (S) are primarily internal changes regarding speed, for which the "S" in "Apple iPhone 3GS" stands. The Apple iPhone 3GS features an better 3 mega pixel camera desined & manufactured by Omni-Vision. In addition to the upper, better and qualified megapixel count. This camera also features auto focus, auto white balance, auto macro and it is capable of capturing VGA video.

The iPhone 3GS's Camera application features a slider which allows users to switch between the capturing photos & the recording videos, a tap to focus feature which allows users to-tap-on an area of the camera image to auto focus on, 5x digital zoom ( iOS 4 & 5), auto-focus and auto-exposure lock when holding an area down ( iOS 5 only ), and gridlines for composition ( iOS 5 only ).

The iPhone 3GS Processor & Memory

The Apple iPhone 3GS is powered by Samsung APL0298C05 chip, which was designed & manufactured by Samsung. This system on a chip is composed of an ARM Cortex A8 CPU core under clocked to 600 MHz ( from 833 MHz ) and integrated with a Power VR SGX 535 GPU.

It has 256 Mega Bite of eDRAM, double the amount of the 3G and allowing for improved performance and multi tasking work.

Apple Incorporation claims the Apple iPhone 3GS is 2xs faster than its predecessor, viewing demonstrations of various types of applications loading in half of the time and its predecessor does.

The iPhone 3GS Storage

As on previous models of Apple iPhone 3GS, all of the data is stored in phone flash memory & not in the SIM & it doesn’t offer any type of options to expand or enlarge storage. Initially the iPhone 3GS was only available in 16GB & 32GB though an 8GB model was soon after released, with Apple discontinuing the 16 and 32 GB models, forcing those needing more storage to select an Apple iPhone 4, or buy an older model 3GS.

The Apple I Phone 3GS is powered by an internal 3.7 V with 1219 mAh rechargeable lithium - ion polymer battery which is designed to retain up to 80 percent of its main capacity after Four Hundred full charge & discharge cycles. Battery life indicator in the % (percentage) was also special to the Apple I Phone 3GS.
Apple Incorporation claims that the 3GS can last for up to 10 Hours of video, 9 Hours of web browsing on the Wi-Fi, 12 Hours of 2G talk-times, or 5 Hours on 3G, Thirty hours of music, or Three Hundred Hours of standby.

The iPhone 3GS Magnetometer

A magnetometer of Apple iPhone 3GS is also built in the Apple iPhone 3GS and it is used to measure the strength & direction of the magnetic field in the surrounding area of the device. From time to time certain devices or radio signals can get in the way with the magnetometer requiring users to either move away from the obstruction or re-calibrate by moving the device in a figure 8 motions. The Apple iPhone 3GS also features a Compass application which was only one of its kind at time of release that means unique, viewing a compass that points in the direction of the magnetic field

The iPhone 3GS Connectivity

In addition to the Apple iPhone 3G's Tri-band UMTS/HSDPA radio & quad-band GSM or GPRS or EDGE radio, the 3GS System also adds support for 7.2 Mbit/s HSDPA allowing faster downlink speeds though upload speeds stay put the same as Apple had not implemented the HSUPA protocol. Extra updates include the addition of a built-in Nike plus iPod sensor which eliminates the need for an external sensor & allows native Nike + iPod support. The Bluetooth server on the Apple iPhone 3GS has also been slightly better adding support for Bluetooth 2.1 specifications.

Voice control of Apple i Phone 3GS

Voice Control (of Apple iPhone 3GS) was introduced as an special feature of the Apple iPhone 3GS & allows for the controlling of the mobile phone & its music features of the mobile phone by voice. There are 2 ways to activate the Voice Control: hold the Home button while in the home screen for a small number of seconds; or, change the effect of what double clicking the home button does so it will activate Voice Control (only before the iOS 4, where double-clicking the Home Button opens the multitasking bar).

Accessibility features of the Apple i Phone 3GS

Voice Over, Color Inversion & Text Zoom were introduced as special features to the iPhone 3GS. Voice Over is a type of feature that dictates music details, system menus, text & other things which were 1st introduced on the 3rd Generation iPod shuffle. Color inversion reverses the color scheme from black-on-white to white-on-black, while the Text Zoom allows users-to-zoom into a text on the phone screen.
